The Super Saiyans

Saiyan:
The normal state of a saiyan warrior. Abilities are normal, as are strength and speed. Currently, there are only 3 pure blooded saiyans alive in the Universe. These are Goku, Vegeta, and Brolli.

Super Saiyan 1:
This is the level beyond the saiyan. It is triggered only by extreme sorrow and rage, and is easily characterized by the yellow-gold hair and slightly enlarged muscles. Strength and speed go way up. Goku was the first to reach this level, during the fight with Frieza.

Ultra Saiyan:
This is a version of Super Saiyan 1. Muscles get really huge, and strength goes up an incredible amount. But while strength goes way up, speed goes down, rendering this form almost useless in battle. Vegeta and Trunks reach this level first, during their training in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber.

Super Saiyan 2:
Like SS1, this level of Super Saiyan is also triggered by extreme sorrow and rage. Hair becomes more straight and a little longer, muscles enlarge, and crackling blue energy surrounds him. Strength and speed are doubled. Gohan was the first to reach this level, during his fight with Cell.

Super Saiyan 3:
Different from the other levels of Super Saiyan, this form can only be reached through extensive training. Hair grows really long, and a little more sinister look is given through the disappearance of eyebrows. Once again, strength and speed soar upward. Goku was the first to reach this level, when he secretly reached it while training in Other World.

Super Saiyan 4:
Once again triggered through sorrow and rage. The appearance is quite different from the other levels of Super Saiyan. The hair turns black, and apelike hair covers the body. The saiyan's tail grows back. Strength and speed skyrocket. Goku is yet again the first to reach this level. The Super Saiyan 4 first appears in Dragonball GT, and is not in Dragonball Z at all.

Super Saiyan 5:
This version of the Super Saiyan is actually a fictitious level, despite what some say. It is supposedly in Dragonball AF, but that serious does not exist. The picture is not even a real one, but one drawn by a fan with good anime drawing skills. I'll give the fictitious info, though. The Super Saiyan 5 is characterized by the long, silver hair. The only people supposedly to reach this level are Goku and a supposed third son, Xicer, and Gotenks, who does not have silver hair in this state but has dark pinkish red hair. Also it is said to give power levels in the hundred millions, in other words it is supposedly an extremely powerful state.

Super Saiyan 6:
The last (and also fictitious) level of Super Saiyan. I don't really know much about it, and though I once had a picture, I lost it and thus I haven't been able to put one up. I also can't find one anywhere, so if anyone has a picture of this fictitious state of Super Saiyan, please E-mail it to me (you can access my E-mail link from the Fan Art page) and I will post your name on my site and give you full credit for finding the picture.

		This is my Dragonball Z site. First off, if you know anything about the show, you MUST know about the Super Saiyans. They are so kick-ass! There are 7 levels to the Super Saiyan (Level 1 has 2 parts to it). I, out of lack of anything else to do, have taken the liberty of posting below the 7 levels of Super Saiyan, and some info about each. Take a look, you may find it interesting.
